Alarm System Policy & Procedures

These procedures and policies are approved by the church and are for your convenience. They are subject to change and are listed here for informational purposes only. Please verify any requirements with those responsible to ensure compliance with the current procedure or policy.

The alarm system here at the church has been in operation for some time now.
Each time the alarm is activated the Sheriff’s Department is dispatched to come out to the church as well as one of the four contact people. In order to resolve this problem we ask that the following instructions for opening and closing the church building be followed:

  1. There are only two designated entrances (where keypads are located to turn off the alarm)
    A. The double glass doors on the north side (this is the side closest to Branch Chapel Church Road)

    B. The single door, in the corner, down from the double glass door on the south side.

  2. When entering at these two locations you will hear the alarm beeping.

  3. Using the keypad, enter your code to turn off the system.

  4. Using any other entrance will activate the alarm. If this happens, the alarm company will call. YOU MUST ANSWER THE PHONE – they will ask for your name and code. Failure to answer the phone or giving the incorrect code will not cancel the Sheriff’s Department or the contact person(s).

  5. When closing the church building, all exterior doors for the entire building must be closed.

  6. Please ensure that all exterior doors are pulled to and closed tightly as the wind can jar the doors and cause the alarm to activate.

  7. Also, the two interior doors coming into the church building from the Educational Building (the doors at the end of the short hallways) must also be closed as they are on sensors for the alarm.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
