Cemetery Policy & Procedures

These procedures and policies are approved by the church and are for your convenience. They are subject to change and are listed here for informational purposes only. Please verify any requirements with those responsible to ensure compliance with the current procedure or policy.

  1. Our cemetery is for church members.

  2. Any member of Branch Chapel Church can be buried in our cemetery

  3. The only exception to the above would be the spouse of a member. We allow the husband or wife of a member to be buried beside their husband or wife if they wish to be; or dependent child.

  4. There will not be any reserved spaces except in the old part of the cemetery, and/or when we fill the old part and start in the new part (in the left back corner. If a member passes away, we will reserve a space beside them for their husband or wife. These would be the only reserved spaces in the new part. If spaces are not available in the old part of the cemetery for both husband and wife, we would then go to the new part.

  5. Any one reserving a space in the old section will be required to put a footstone in place within 30 days.

  6. When we do start in the new section of the cemetery and a member is buried, if their husband or wife wished to reserve a space beside them, they will be required to put a footstone in place within 60 days.

  7. Tombstones above ground will be allowed in the old section of the cemetery.
  8. All tombstones in the new section will be at ground level.

  9. In order to keep our cemetery neat and clean, we ask that all family members of the deceased partake with this effort.

  10. Please be advised that in some cases due to the location of a grave it may have to be dug by hand if the machine cannot get to it.
